
Jointly organized by the International Society for Transplantation (TTS), Fudan University Shanghai Medical College, and the Shanghai Key Laboratory for Organ Transplantation, the 2024 Asian Organ Transplantation Symposium (TSS), hosted by Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University, will be held for the first time on November 22-23, 2024. The TSS-Asian Conference is an international academic conference officially recognized by the International Society for Transplantation (TTS) and held biennially. Professor John Fung, the current President of the International Society for Transplantation (TTS), is a distinguished guest at this conference.
Professor John Fung

Professor John Fung, TTS Chairman and Professor of Surgery at the University of Chicago Transplant Institute. Former Director of the University of Pittsburgh Transplant Surgery Center and the Cleveland Clinic Health System. Professor John Fung is a distinguished leader in the field of organ transplantation with over 30 years of experience. He primarily focuses on clinical and basic research in liver transplantation, kidney transplantation, pancreas transplantation, small intestine transplantation, living donor liver transplantation, solid organ transplantation, hepatectomy, and hepatobiliary malignancies. As an innovator, Professor Fung pioneered new minimally invasive surgical techniques, offering patients advanced treatment options. Beyond his surgical contributions, he is an accomplished immunologist who developed procedures to enhance donor organ preservation. Professor Fung has a longstanding research interest in transplant immunology, immunosuppressive therapy, and liver-related immunology. He has authored and published over 1,000 professional articles and books, served on the editorial boards of multiple medical journals, and was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Liver Transplantation. Professor John Fung has been honored with “America’s Top Doctors” and “Best Doctors in America” awards for his dedication to innovation and delivering the highest level of patient care.
