Jointly organised by the International Society for Transplantation (TTS) , the Fudan University Shanghai Medical College and the Shanghai Key Laboratory for organ transplantation, the 2024 Asian Organ Transplantation Symposium (TSS) , hosted by Sun Yat-sen Hospital of Fudan University, will be 2024 for the first time on November 22-23. The TSS-Asian Conference is an international academic conference officially recognized by the International Transplant Society (TTS) and held every two years. John Fung professor，TTS is chairman and Professor of Surgery at the University of Chicago’s Transplant Institute. Former Director, University of Pittsburgh Transplant Surgery Center, Cleveland Clinic Health System.
Professor John Fung is an outstanding leader in the field of organ transplantation with over 30 years of experience. He is mainly engaged in clinical and basic research of liver transplantation, kidney transplantation, pancreas transplantation, small intestine transplantation, living donor liver transplantation, solid organ transplantation, hepatectomy and hepatobiliary malignancy. As an innovator, Professor Fung pioneered the use of new minimally invasive surgical techniques to provide patients with more advanced treatment options. In addition to his contributions in the field of surgery, he was an accomplished immunologist who introduced procedures to improve donor organ preservation. Professor Fung has a long-term research interest in transplant immunology, immunosuppressive therapy, and liver-related immunology. He has authored and published more than 1,000 professional articles and books, served on the editorial boards of several medical journals, and served as editor-in-chief of the journal of liver transplantation. Professor John Fung has been awarded“’s Top Doctors” and“Best Doctors in ” for his commitment to innovation and providing the highest level of patient care.
