
Jointly sponsored by Fudan University Shanghai Medical College and the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Organ Transplantation, the 2024 Asian Organ Transplantation Symposium (TSS), hosted by Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University, will be held in Shanghai from November 22 to 24, 2024. Experts in organ transplantation and related disciplines from both domestic and international communities will be invited to deliver lectures and discuss key and challenging issues in the field of organ transplantation. Conference Chairman

Zhu Tongyu, Chief Physician, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
He is currently Vice President of Fudan University Shanghai Medical College, Director of the Shanghai Institute of Bacteriophage and Drug Resistance, Director of the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Organ Transplantation, Director of the Shanghai Kidney Transplantation Quality Control Center, and Director of the Fudan University Research Institute. Recipient of Shanghai Leading Talents, Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leader, Shanghai Health System New 100 Plan, and China Hospital Association 2020 Outstanding Hospital President awards. He also serves as Chairman of the Organ Transplantation Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association and Standing Member of the Organ Transplantation Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association. Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Am J Transplant (Chinese Edition), Standing Editorial Board Member of Organ Transplant, Editorial Board Member of Int J Clin Pract and Chinese Journal of Organ Transplantation, and Reviewer for New Engl J Med, Am J Transplant, and other journals. He has long been engaged in clinical and basic research on kidney transplantation, phage therapy for drug-resistant bacterial infections, BK virus activation mechanisms and prevention/treatment strategies, and pathogen diagnosis and treatment. He has led over fifteen major national science and technology projects, including National Natural Science Foundation of China projects and other scientific research initiatives. In recent years, he has focused particularly on the prevention and control of post-transplantation infections. Since 2018, he has led the first domestic clinical trial of phage therapy for multidrug-resistant bacterial infections. He has published nearly 100 SCI papers in journals such as Emerg Microbes Infect, J Infect, EClinicalMedicine, EMBO J, and Med, and has applied for 11 patents, 5 of which have been granted.

Wan Jun, Chair Professor, Department of Surgery, University of Hong Kong; Director of the Clinical and Translational Laboratory, Laboratory of Liver Transplantation and Liver Cancer, Laboratory of Organ Transplantation and Regeneration, and Central Laboratory at Shenzhen Hospital, University of Hong Kong. Chairman of the Hong Kong Association for Science and Technology (since 2018), Chairman of the Society of Immunology of Hong Kong (since 2023), President of the International Society for Liver Transplantation (2018-2019). Deputy Editor of Transplantation (since 2015). Editorial Board Member of Annals of Surgery (since 2018). Engages in clinical, translational, and basic research on liver transplantation injury, hepatocellular carcinoma, and tumor recurrence post-liver transplantation. His research is at the forefront internationally, with over 200 papers published in renowned journals; his recent innovations have earned the Gold Award at the 2024 Geneva Invention Fair and the Special Award from the China Invention Association.

Fu Yingxin, Director of the Kidney Transplantation Department at Shenzhen No. 3 People’s Hospital, Head of the Organ Transplantation Research Institute. Completed postdoctoral training at Johns Hopkins University, USA, and Professor at Southern University of Science and Technology of China. Has performed over 1,000 kidney transplantations and 80 simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplantations, with follow-up care for over 800 kidney and pancreas transplantation cases. Lau Kong, Research Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, University of Hong Kong. Engages in clinical, basic, and translational research in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery and liver transplantation, focusing on immunological and metabolic mechanisms and medical applications of biomaterials. Has published 34 SCI papers, with 622 total citations and an H-index of 14. Co-authored international guidelines on biomarkers for accelerated recovery after liver transplantation and a consensus on diagnosing small liver syndrome in living donor liver transplantation. In 2022, identified mild graft steatosis as a risk factor for long-term poor prognosis after living donor liver transplantation. Conducted the first preclinical study of micro-robot-based stem cell therapy for liver cancer. Proposed a theory of the regional immune microenvironment for hepatocellular carcinoma recurrence after liver transplantation.
