Prof. Xue Wujun: on the development of DCD kidney transplantation in China

Professor Zhu Tongyu of kidney transplant center of our hospital gave a grand welcome to Professor Xue Wujun and his party, and presided over the academic lecture of“Transplant everybody”. Professor Xue Wujun made a report entitled“Development of CDCD and evaluation of kidney donors and mechanical cold preservation of kidney”. He first introduced the development of DCD kidney transplantation in China. In recent years, the number and proportion of organ donation by our citizens have been increasing year by year, but there is still a big gap compared with the developed countries in the world. Professor Xue pointed out the shortcomings in our organ donation work and put forward corresponding measures for improvement. Subsequently, Professor Xue discussed in detail the mechanical cold preservation technique of DCD donor kidney with our kidney transplantation center of Zhongshan Hospital, and shared his experience in the application of this technique.

Prof. Rong ruiming introduced the development history and achievements of the kidney transplantation center in our hospital to Prof. Xue Wujun and his team, and focused on a series of achievements in the field of ischemia reperfusion injury in recent years.

Dr. Zhu Dong reported on our research in the field of antibody-mediated rejection. Ischemia-reperfusion injury and antibody-mediated rejection are very important issues in renal transplantation, which have a great impact on the survival rate of renal allograft. Our research in this field has the potential to transform from basic research to clinical application, and the related work is being carried out smoothly.
