Professor Karmin O Invited to Attend the Nanjing International Academic Forum

In December 2014, Karmin O, Visiting Professor at the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Organ Transplantation and Professor at the University of Manitoba, Canada, participated in the Nanjing International Academic Forum on Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Nephrology held in Nanjing. The forum featured renowned speakers, including many leading experts in the field of kidney disease from Europe and beyond. Professor Karmin O’s presentation at the conference, titled “Regulatory Mechanisms of Oxidative Stress in Acute Kidney Injury and Chronic Kidney Disease,” was well received. Professor Karmin O stated in the report that regulating blood levels of homocysteine and hydrogen sulfide represents a new target for the prevention and treatment of acute kidney injury. Following the meeting, Professor Karmin O visited the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Organ Transplantation, provided work guidance, delivered a report on the academic meeting, and engaged in in-depth exchanges with the laboratory, reaching a consensus on the next steps for scientific research cooperation.
