In recent years, living relative kidney transplantation has been the most effective method to solve the shortage of donor kidneys, and it has become the development direction of kidney transplantation. In our hospital, relative kidney transplantation was carried out earlier in China, and we have accumulated rich clinical experience and achieved some results.
Apart from alleviating the shortage of donor kidneys, the main reasons for encouraging relative kidney transplantation are the advantages of relative kidney transplantation, mainly including:
1. Increased histocompatibility between donor and recipient. Differences in major human Histocompatibility antigens are the immunological basis of renal allograft rejection. Therefore, the selection of donor kidneys with good tissue matching can reduce the incidence of renal allograft rejection.
2. Improved the quality of the donor kidney. The quality of donor kidney directly affects the outcome of kidney transplantation, and the quality of donor kidney mainly depends on the duration of warm ischemia and cold ischemia, Living relative kidney transplantation can reduce ischemia – reperfusion injury to the greatest extent, so as to ensure the better quality of the donor kidney, and make the graft function recover quickly and well after operation.
3. Reduced use of immunosuppressants. Due to the good tissue matching between relatives, the incidence of kidney transplant rejection is significantly reduced, and the dosage of immunosuppressants is reduced, thereby reducing the various side effects of drugs on the body, and also reduces the cost of treatment for patients.
4. Be able to calmly give priority to selecting and arranging the operation time.The time of operation can be reasonably arranged according to the physical condition of the donor and the recipient, which can shorten the time of dialysis before transplantation and improve the clinical effect.
